Facilities Support Lead
Part‑Time | Flexible | Hybrid
We’re looking for someone special — someone who takes real pride in their work, has a sharp eye for detail, and genuinely enjoys helping others grow. If you have extensive experience in facilities or caretaking and you’re the kind of person who naturally supports, guides, and encourages those around you, this could be the perfect role for you.
This is a newly created role with genuine flexibility and space to make it your own. The role is designed to strengthen and support our Facilities Site Support team across local schools. You’ll therefore become a trusted point of contact for our caretakers, offering practical guidance, reassurance, and the benefit of your experience. You’ll manage your own diary with most of your working time being spent out on school sites supporting our caretakers, with some home‑based hours for planning, coordination and follow‑ups.
As this is a newly created role, the weekly working hours are yet to be determined. They will be reviewed over time and may be extended as the role develops. We are happy to shape the working pattern around the availability of the ideal candidate.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome and induct new Facilities Site Support Workers, helping them feel confident from day one.
- Be a point of contact to provide hands‑on Health & Safety guidance and practical support.
- Visit school sites to check standards, offer advice, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Give constructive feedback, recognise great work, and help the team take pride in what they do.
- Share best practice and help maintain safe, consistent, high‑quality service across all sites.
- Work closely with the HR & Business Manager on training needs or site‑specific challenges.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Extensive experience in facilities, caretaking, or site operations.
- High personal standards and a genuine pride in doing things well.
- A strong eye for detail, able to spot what others might miss.
- A warm, approachable manner that puts people at ease.
- The confidence to guide and mentor without being managerial or authoritative.
- A proactive, organised approach, comfortable managing your own time and workload.
- A commitment to safe working practices and strong understanding of H&S.
- Willingness to travel to school sites as needed.
Why This Role Matters
Our schools trust us because of the people we send - their reliability, their standards, and the support behind them. This role helps protect and strengthen that trust. You’ll be the steady, encouraging presence that helps our caretakers feel supported, valued, and able to deliver their best work every day.
What We Offer
- Genuine flexibility and autonomy
- Supportive, people‑focused culture
- The opportunity to shape and develop the role as it grows
If you recognise yourself in this role, the standards, the pride, the people‑first approach, and the ability to work flexibly to support our team, then we’d love to hear from you!
Because finding the right person really matters here, we may close the advert early, extend the deadline, or keep the search open a little longer to make sure we find the best possible fit.
