TAYU is a beautiful established Pan Asian Bar & Restaurant in Gateshead. We pride ourselves on delivering unique products in a stunning environment. From homemade Dim Sum to Sushi and hand crafted cocktails to fine Asian ales.

The Role

TRAINEE SUSHI CHEF - PART TIME OR FULL TIME (£14.50 to £16.00ph)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sushi Chef to join our multi cultural team who is fully conversant in Asian Cuisine with an incredible background in hand crafted sushi. The ideal candidate have previous experience in a quality led kitchen whilst maintaining a smooth and efficient food service operation.. You will be an excellent team player who is eager to share their knowledge of Pan Asian cuisine with the team.

Responsibilities

Work with a positive attitude
Designate and train kitchen staff in all areas
Ensure that all food is prepared freshly according to the high standards
Ordering of kitchen stock to endure appropriate par levels
Ensure that all equipment is in good condition and regularly maintained/cleaned
Ensure that Food safety schedules are followed and recorded
Maintain a clean and sanitised work area

Skills & Requirements:

Knowledge of Pan Asian Cuisine
Knowledge of Sushi and keen interest.
The ability to assist in the smooth operation of food delivery to the restaurant
Have extensive knowledge of COSSH and FSA regulations
Have relevant Health and Hygiene certificates (if not TAYU will arrange)
