Fabric Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Multi-Trade Operative / Multi-Trader

Due to the continued growth and successful expansion of our operations, Platinum Facilities Maintenance is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a skilled and reliable Fabric Engineer to join our established team. This position is based at our client’s site at Langstone Park, a well-known business location in Havant, conveniently situated for candidates travelling from Portsmouth, Cosham, Fareham, and the surrounding areas.

Platinum Facilities Maintenance is known for providing dependable, responsive, and customer-focused maintenance solutions across commercial properties, ensuring buildings remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained at all times. Langstone Park offers a modern and well-connected working environment, set within an attractive business park location with excellent transport links to the wider Hampshire area. Its convenient position makes it an ideal base for engineers looking for a stable role close to home with easy access from neighbouring towns and cities.

The role follows an exclusive Monday to Friday working pattern on a 6-week cycle, offering a strong work-life balance and consistent hours.

This position would ideally suit candidates with previous experience in multi-trade facilities maintenance and a practical background in areas such as:

Carpentry
Painting & Decorating
Tiling
Plumbing
General Fabric Repairs
Reactive and Planned Maintenance Tasks

The work pattern is as follows:

First 5 weeks': 7am - 3pm.
First 6 weeks': 10am - 6pm.

General Duties will include:

Cabinet repairs, Desk repairs, Chair repairs, Carpet tiles, Wall finishes including tilling, Blind repairs, Signs and notice boards, Door inspections and repair, Minor plumbing works, Lamp changes.
Escorting visitors including sub-contractors and suppliers.
Keep all Client meeting rooms and areas in immaculate condition.
Reactive and emergency breakdown, completing paperwork and reports.
Control of water testing and upkeep of the waterlog book.
Upkeep of Plant, Plantrooms and daily plantroom walk rounds.
Carry out statutory record keeping of fire doors, Fire Alarm & Sprinkler System, Phone Refuge points and Emergency Lighting.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experienced handyperson with previous experience in a commercial environment – Essential.
Trade certificate - Highly desirable, although relevant experience will be considered.
Experienced in Fabric/Mutli-trade works – Essential.
PASMA & IPAF – Desired.
