Job Title: Pharmacy Delivery Driver
Location: Grantham with travel within a 35-mile radius
Responsible to: Superintendent Pharmacist
Remuneration: Up to £12.21/hour plus mileage costs at HMRC approved rate

K2 Innovations Ltd, trading as Newton Pharmacy is a GPhC registered distance-selling pharmacy, based in Grantham, Lincolnshire. We provide various NHS and private services to meet the needs of patients in England. Our commitment is to dispense all medications on patients’ prescriptions and deliver them in their original boxes or in medication pouches, directly to the patient’s door, completely free of charge.
Purpose
You will work with the Newton Pharmacy Team to provide a safe and timely delivery service to patients within a 35-mile radius of the business premises. Patients living beyond the ‘delivery boundary’ will have their medication delivered by an alternative approved means.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To take home deliveries of medication on a routine basis, on a prescribed route agreed with the Pharmacy team; this will include residential addresses, nursing, care and residential homes
- To assist with the delivery of urgent medication required within the agreed delivery boundary area
- To ensure that all medication is transported in a safe and suitable manner
- To maintain your own vehicle in a safe and suitable condition ensuring appropriate insurance, MOT and road fund licence are in place, where appropriate for the vehicle used
- To work inside your own competence, not offering advice on the use of medication to patients,
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- A helpful disposition towards patients who may be under stress
- Offer the highest level of customer care to our patients and their relatives/carers at all times
- An ability to use your own judgement in working situations where you may be working on your own, e.g. not to leave medications in unsafe/insecure conditions or in unsafe locations etc.
- An awareness and understanding of confidentiality and how it should be adhered to
- A qualified driver holding a full UK driving licence with no more three points on your licence.
- Personal car/van will need to be used. Mileage at HMRC approved rate will be reimbursed plus an hourly rate.
