At Cabel UK, we’re looking for an ambitious and hands-on Finance Professional to lead our UK financial operations, support strategic decision-making, and help drive future growth, both in the UK and internationally. This position will be a part of the Senior Management Team and have a Finance Administrator reporting to them.
This is far more than a traditional finance role. You’ll be a trusted business partner to senior leadership, influencing commercial decisions, improving processes, and helping shape the future direction of the business.
The Opportunity
As our Finance Professional, you’ll oversee the full finance function for the UK business while supporting strategic planning, forecasting, profitability analysis, and international expansion initiatives.
You’ll work closely with the Managing Director and wider leadership team, providing financial insight that drives performance, efficiency, and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead month-end, year-end and audit processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare and oversee:
- P&L reporting
- Balance sheets
- Cash flow reporting
- Management accounts
- Board-level financial reporting
- Manage journals, accruals, provisions and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legal regulations and Group reporting deadlines
Business Partnering & Commercial Analysis
Support and contribute to the Senior Management Team with:
- Budgeting
- Forecasting
- Product costing
- Sales margin planning
- Deliver insightful analysis on:
- Product profitability
- Customer profitability
- Operational performance
- Identify margin erosion and recommend commercial improvements
- Develop financial models and investment cases to support strategic business decisions
Operational Finance & Controls
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls and systems
Oversee:
- VAT returns
- Intrastat reporting
- Office for National Statistics submissions
- Cash flow management
- Asset registers
- Lease contracts
- Manage insurance renewals to ensure comprehensive and cost-effective cover
- Support payroll, HMRC compliance, and external audits
- Oversee Credit Control and Purchase Ledger functions
Strategic & International Growth Support
- Support international ventures, acquisitions and joint venture opportunities
- Assist with due diligence activities for overseas expansion
- Build financial forecasts aligned with long-term growth objectives
- Provide cost accounting insight to support operational and manufacturing decisions
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar finance role
- ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience producing company and management accounts
Strong understanding of:
- Cost analysis
- Profitability analysis
- Management control
- Variance analysis
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
