Full job description

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOTOR MECHANIC to join our team in a small friendly garage. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be able to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. We are not open on a Saturday or at the weekend, the position is Monday to Friday 8am until 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and machinery to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.

Experience

Previous experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is ESSENTIAL.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment is preferred.
Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, electrical systems, and transmissions.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
A relevant qualification in automotive technology or mechanical engineering is advantageous but not mandatory. MOT Tester would be an advantage.
A valid driving licence is required.
Salary will be dependant on experience, to be discussed at interview.
