Full job description

Papapoké is expanding, and we’re looking for a reliable and skilled Kitchen All-Rounder / Prep Chef to join our team.
If you enjoy working with fresh ingredients, have strong knife skills, and can prepare sushi rolls confidently — we want to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Daily prep of fresh fish (salmon, tuna)
Preparing sushi rolls (uramaki, hosomaki, futomaki)
Cutting vegetables, cooking rice, portioning ingredients
Preparing our signature dressings and sauces
Keeping the prep area clean, organised, and food-safe
Supporting the main line during busy hours
Following portion standards and quality guidelines

Required Skills

Experience working with fish (cutting, trimming, portioning) — mandatory
Ability to roll sushi confidently — mandatory
Strong knife skills
Good understanding of food hygiene & safety
Ability to work quickly and cleanly under pressure
Reliable, positive, and a team player

Bonus Skills (Not required but welcome)

Experience in fast-casual kitchens
Experience in poke bowls, Japanese cuisine, or sushi bars
Knowledge of allergens and safe food handling

Pay: From £15.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
