Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Conveyancer or Conveyancing Assistant to join our busy department in West Yorkshire. In this role, you will support the conveyancing process, ensuring property transactions are managed efficiently and that communication with clients and third parties is clear and effective throughout.

This is a paid position offering an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and busiest conveyancing departments in West Yorkshire. You'll have the chance to develop your legal and administrative skills within a fast-paced supportive environment that is committed to delivering excellence.

Duties

Assist with preparing and reviewing conveyancing documentation, including contracts, transfer deeds,
Coordinate communication between clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors to ensure timely progress of transactions
Manage and update case files
Schedule appointments, meetings, while maintaining accurate calendars
Track deadlines and milestones throughout the conveyancing process to ensure compliance with legal requirements
Support the team in conducting research and verifying property details using IT systems
Draft correspondence and reports in clear English to keep all parties informed of transaction progress

Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience required
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate information both verbally and in writing
Punctuality is key - being in the office on time
Excellent organizational skills with effective time management abilities to handle multiple cases simultaneously
Knowledge of IT systems relevant to legal or conveyancing work is preferred
Fluency in English is essential for drafting documents and maintaining client relationships
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-moving environment
Previous experience in legal administration or conveyancing is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
