Job overview

Working under the direct supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse who delegates tasks to the post holder. The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will deliver high quality nursing care to patients, as part of a team. The post holder is responsible for their own practice, working within the defined limits of competence and within the scope of the role. The registered nurse retains accountability for the care delivered by the HCA.

Successful candidates will have a genuine desire to become a part of our amazing team and provide outstanding care for our patients. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work well within a team and you have to be hardworking, compassionate and has a passion to care to this client group.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must have recent experience providing hands-on care in a regulated health or social care setting (such as a hospital, care home, nursing home, or similar environment)to be considered for this role

You will be provided with the clinical training to learn the role. You will be provided with daily supervision by trained staff to perform safely, confidently and competently. Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

Qualifications and training

Essential criteria

Care Certificate or willingness to complete the Care Certificate within 6-12 weeks

Desirable criteria

GCSE or equivalent in Math and English
Health & Social Care Level 2 or 3 certificate or Higher Development training

Experience

Basic IT experience or willingness to input an electronic record system

Experience of working within relevant speciality in a ward or hospital in a caring role
Experience of taking and documenting basic patient observations such as TPR and BP
