Join The Green Room Foundation Ltd as a Learning Support Assistant Intern and help us offer unmissable and audacious education to support and inspire our SEND pupils, in an environment that is both safe and brave. The Green Room Foundation Ltd works with great people to bring about audacious and unmissable education for our pupils in three unique locations. We’re currently seeking three Interns to join us for a year from September 2026. This role is an exciting opportunity to be a positive influence and a role model for our SEND pupils, while making a meaningful impact on both students and staff.

Intent

The purpose of this internship is to enhance the learning experience for our pupils by providing essential support though play, learning and fun activities to help them reach their goals. You will help us embed the audacious and unmissable education offered by the schools, by building strong relationships with pupils and staff, while embodying our core values of Kindness, Curiosity and Change to inspire those around you.

Implementation

In this dynamic role, you will:

Lessons

Assist with preparing the learning environment for lessons, workshops, and activities.
Ensure that learning materials are organised and ready for use.
Offer encouragement and support to pupils, helping them understand lesson content and stay engaged.
Support teachers in delivering lessons and activities.
Help pupils follow their individual learning plans and schemes of work.
Take part in documenting learning progress and participating in educational opportunities.

In time, you may have the chance to:

Plan and lead 1-to-1 lessons to accelerate pupils’ progress.
Lead group lessons, sharing your passion and knowledge with the pupils.
Help teachers assess students' work and provide constructive feedback.

Activities

Help organise group activities, ensuring all pupils are included and engaged.
Mentor and coach assigned pupils, providing a safe space for them to talk and receive guidance.
Participate in a variety of school events, trips, and extracurricular activities throughout the year.

In time, you may also have the opportunity to:

Initiate engaging activities related to cultural themes or personal interests that enrich the learning experience.

Other Duties

Supervise pupils during lunch breaks, maintaining a calm, safe, and fun environment.
Attend staff briefings and team meetings to stay informed and collaborate effectively with the team.
Reinforce school rules and boundaries to ensure safety and well-being.

In time, you may:

Plan and implement opportunities for developing students' social, emotional, and physical well-being.

This is a full-time, term-time internship (40 hours per week), from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

We’re looking for someone who is:

Proactive and self-starting: You take the initiative to develop new ideas and activities and are invested in the success of our pupils.
Innovative, energetic, and positive: You bring creativity, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude to everything you do.
Calm, polite, and approachable: You can engage with pupils and staff in a kind, non-judgmental manner, and are receptive to feedback.

Ideal candidates will:

Have a passion for working with young people, and ideally, have knowledge or a love for the outdoors and animals as we're based on a farm.
Be confident in communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Have good literacy and numeracy skills, with a working knowledge of Google apps and Arbor (a school management system) being a plus.
Be able to work within the school’s health and safety standards, with training provided.
Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and animals.

This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
