Summary
We are looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused Product Team Manager to lead our Product & Data team within a successful and growing prestige automotive parts company.
This is a managerial role responsible for overseeing the product sample development process, managing product data accuracy, coordinating supplier communication, and ensuring customer issues and product queries are handled efficiently. The successful candidate will manage a small team, delegate day-to-day tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular reporting to the board.
Knowledge of car parts and experience within the motor trade or engineering sector is essential.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
Job Type: Full Time, 42.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support a small Product team, ensuring tasks are delegated effectively and completed to a high standard.
- Oversee the full product sample development process, from sample selection and preparation through to supplier communication, reverse engineering, and product completion.
- Ensure product samples are picked, prepared, packaged and dispatched to suppliers accurately and efficiently.
- Manage commercial invoices and documentation for outgoing samples, ensuring all records are accurate and compliant.
- Maintain an organised and up-to-date sample system, including sample shelves, date logs, supplier status updates and delivery records.
- Monitor incoming sample deliveries and ensure all items are recorded, tracked and processed correctly.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding sample progress, technical queries, product development updates and issue resolution.
- Work closely with the warehouse, parts, purchasing and data teams to resolve product issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure customer issues, product queries and internal requests are followed up promptly and resolved to a high standard.
- Assist with part conversions, product matching, data accuracy and product range development.
- Review team workload regularly and ensure priorities are managed in line with business requirements.
- Identify process improvements within the Product department to improve efficiency, accuracy and communication.
- Prepare regular reports for the board, including progress on sample development, supplier performance, team workload, product issues and key departmental updates.
- Ensure product data is accurate, consistent and maintained to support sales, operations and customer service teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge of car parts is essential.
- Previous experience in the motor trade, engineering, automotive parts, or a similar technical product environment is required.
- Previous management or team leader experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage, delegate and prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident dealing with suppliers, internal teams and customer-related product queries.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to managing workload and improving processes.
