Job Overview
We are a main dealer equipped, fully air conditioned family run business and are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Technician to be a part of our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a real passion for vehicle maintenance. The position involves working with specialised tools and equipment, providing high-quality customer service, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify faults and issues
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems using schematics and our OE diagnostic equipment
Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently
Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs
Carry out equipment repair and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of workshop tools and machinery
Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required during repair or refurbishment projects
Maintain detailed records of all work performed in accordance with company standards

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role within the automotive industry
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Familiarity with reading schematics, technical manuals, and assembly instructions
Experience in vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, and general workshop practices
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues
Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing during repair tasks
