About the Role
Adept Dental Laboratory is seeking an experienced and talented Ceramist to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Dental Technician with a passion for aesthetics and quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-end ceramic restorations for a wide range of NHS/Private and implant cases, working closely with our CAD/CAM team and clinicians to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
Experience with digital workflows and CAD/CAM design would be advantageous, although the primary focus of this role is ceramic work and the production of highly aesthetic restorations.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality ceramic restorations including crowns, bridges, veneers and implant restorations.
- Layer, stain and glaze restorations to achieve excellent aesthetic and functional outcomes.
- Work with zirconia, E.max and other contemporary restorative materials.
- Assess cases for shade, morphology and occlusion requirements.
- Carry out quality control checks to ensure restorations meet laboratory and clinician expectations.
- Collaborate with CAD/CAM technicians to ensure seamless integration between digital design and ceramic finishing.
- Provide technical advice and support on complex aesthetic and implant cases.
- Liaise with dentists regarding case planning, shade matching and technical requirements.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all work is completed within agreed turnaround times.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and quality standards.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- GDC Registered Dental Technician.
- Proven experience as a Ceramist within a dental laboratory environment.
- Experience producing high-quality ceramic restorations for crown and bridge and implant cases.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, morphology, occlusion and aesthetics.
- Experience with layered ceramics, zirconia and E.max restorations.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and work to deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Experience using Exocad, 3Shape or other dental CAD software.
- Experience with digital dentistry workflows and intra-oral scans.
- Experience within a private or cosmetic dental laboratory environment.
- Implant restoration experience.
- Experience attending clinician consultations and shade appointments.
