Job Description:
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Press Brake Operator / Setter. This position offers an exciting opportunity to learn and develop with opportunities for advancement and career growth within the company.
Responsibilities:
The post holder will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Setting and operating AMADA CNC press brake machines in accordance with production schedules and technical specifications.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, work orders, and production documentation to ensure accurate manufacture of components.
- Selecting, installing, and aligning appropriate tooling, including punches and dies, for specific production requirements.
- Programming or adjusting machine parameters such as bend sequences, bend angles, material thickness, and back gauge positions.
- Conducting first-off and in-process inspections to verify compliance with drawing tolerances and quality standards.
- Using measuring equipment including calipers, angle gauges, rulers, and protractors to confirm dimensional accuracy.
- Identifying and reporting defects, quality issues, tooling wear, or machine faults to the shop floor manager.
- Minimising waste, scrap, and rework by maintaining process accuracy and consistency.
- Performing routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards and ensuring the work area remains clean, safe, and organised.
- Handling raw materials and finished products safely using approved lifting methods and equipment.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across production, engineering, and quality departments.
- Complying at all times with company policies, health and safety legislation, and safe systems of work.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating CNC press brake machinery within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Good understanding of tolerances and bend allowances
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous experience specifically using AMADA press brake equipment.
- Experience Trumpf Laser and/or Punch
- Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Forklift

Monday to Friday - 8.00 to 4.30 overtime available at time and a half
