Full job description

Swytch Graphics is growing, and we are looking for an experienced print operator to join our expanding production team.

Following recent investment in new machinery and continued growth with major clients, we are looking for someone careful, reliable and quality-focused who takes real pride in their work.

This is a hands-on production role, working across large format print, including UV flatbed and roll-to-roll machinery. The successful candidate will understand the importance of accurate setup, colour consistency, regular maintenance, quality control and keeping production moving efficiently.

The role would suit someone who is tidy, organised and confident managing a varied workload, from larger volume production runs through to bespoke short-run work. You will be joining a busy production environment where teamwork, communication, attention to detail and flexibility are essential.

During busy periods, flexibility around working hours will be required. This may include overtime and possible shift patterns to help us meet customer deadlines. Where night shifts are introduced, the planned pattern would be four 9-hour shifts per week, and a night shift bonus / shift allowance would be paid in addition to normal pay.

In return, we make sure additional effort is recognised through overtime pay, profit-related bonuses, shift allowances where applicable, and extra incentives during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities

Operating large format UV flatbed and roll-to-roll printers
Setting up jobs accurately for production
Checking colour, print quality and consistency throughout each job
Carrying out regular machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
Keeping the print area clean, tidy and organised
Managing a varied workload across high-volume and bespoke jobs
Working closely with team leaders and other departments to meet deadlines
Taking responsibility for quality control before work moves to the next stage
Supporting the wider production team when required

The Right Person

The ideal candidate will be:

Experienced in large format print production
Confident operating flatbed and/or roll-to-roll print equipment
Careful, organised and quality-focused
Able to work accurately under pressure
A good communicator who works well as part of a team
Tidy and disciplined in their working area
Willing to take responsibility for machine care, maintenance and output quality
Flexible with working hours when required, including overtime or shift patterns during busy periods
Open to working night shifts if introduced, based on a four-day, 9-hour shift pattern
Proud of producing work to a high standard

Equipment Includes

Experience on the exact machines below is not essential, but large format print experience is important.

Taimes 3220 UV flatbed
Taimes 2513 Gen6 UV flatbed
Gongzheng 312 roll-to-roll printer
HP Latex 800
Gongzheng Pixy T
Ricoh small format equipment

Pay and Benefits

Salary is dependent on experience, ranging from £24,000 to £30,000.
