Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Shot Blaster to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of large industrial items, including trailers, steel fabrications, plant equipment, and other heavy-duty components, ensuring surfaces are ready for painting and finishing.
This is a hands-on role preparing a variety of large items to a high standard while following safe working practices. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has good attention to detail, and enjoys being part of a hardworking team.
Duties
- Operate shot blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for painting, coating, and finishing.
- Set up and adjust blasting equipment to achieve the required surface finish.
- Shot blast trailers, steel fabrications, machinery, and other large components.
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met and identify any defects.
- Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of blasting equipment, reporting any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area.
- Work effectively as part of the workshop team to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year's experience as a Shot Blaster is required.
- Previous experience in industrial surface preparation, grit blasting, or abrasive blasting.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation
- Experience working with trailers, steel fabrications, or industrial equipment would be advantageous.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: £15.00-£16.89 per hour
