Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse or Trainee Dental Nurse to join our professional dental practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their career within dental healthcare. The successful candidate will support dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain a clean and organised clinical environment. Prior experience is not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate. This position is paid and suitable for those eager to learn and grow within the dental field.

Duties

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments
Sterilise and maintain dental instruments in accordance with health and safety standards
Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions and answer any queries they may have
Support with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records using IT systems
Ensure the clinical environment is clean, organised, and compliant with infection control protocols
Communicate effectively with patients, offering reassurance and clear explanations throughout their visit
Maintain stock levels of dental supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary

Qualifications

Experience in patient care or nursing is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for trainees
Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with patients and team members
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Excellent communication skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues
Basic IT skills for managing patient records and appointment scheduling
A caring attitude with a genuine interest in supporting patients’ oral health and wellbeing
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical setting
