Be at the heart of our Best Start Family Hubs Team and enable earlier intervention and better outcomes for children in North East Lincolnshire.

Join a service that empowers you, supports you and values your skills.

We are seeking three full time (37 hours per week) colleague to join us on a 3 year fixed term basis aligned to the Best Start in Life funding.

As a Family Help Practitioner in North East Lincolnshire Council’s Best Start Family Hubs, you will work as part of a team to provide a high quality service to families who have children aged 0-5 years, including families with children with SEND to make a lasting difference.

Best Start Family Hubs are highly valued, and supported by skilled, knowledgeable and caring leaders and managers.

You will be joining a service that is built on pride and passion, who have high aspirations for children and families and who are committed to empowering them to thrive and be the best they can be.

The Best Start Family Hubs team will be working with early years children and their families to help them achieve a ‘good level of development’ by delivering interventions either in their home, in Family Hubs or other community venues across North East Lincolnshire.

You will do this by using evidenced based interventions such as the PEEP Learning Together Programme, Making it Real (Raising Early Achievement in Literacy) and our Togetherness Approach programme. All training will be provided.

You will also deliver or support various one-off sessions for children and their families aligned to the expectations set out in our Best Start Local Plan.

What will your day look like?

Plan and deliver play-based learning sessions in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Support parents to understand and nurture their child’s development through practical, everyday strategies.

Deliver evidence-based parenting programmes, including for families with SEND

Promote school readiness by building confidence in the home learning environment

Work closely with colleagues across health, early years, and social care as a Best Start Family Hub Champion

Contribute to assessments and help shape intervention plans that really make a difference

We’re seeking someone who’s warm, creative, and confident in working with families from all backgrounds. You’ll understand the challenges some families face and know how to offer respectful, practical support that empowers and encourages.
