Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Fish and Chip Shop team. This role involves preparing and cooking traditional fish and chips, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a friendly team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including battering fish and preparing chips
Cook fish, chips, and other menu items to high standards of quality and presentation
Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter or takeaway window
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers
Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and kitchen operations
