Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Management Accountant specializing in construction to join our financial team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee financial management processes specific to construction projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Your expertise will drive informed decision-making and support the successful delivery of construction initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects while honing your skills in financial analysis and management within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports tailored to construction activities.
Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to stay within budget parameters.
Manage accounts payable processes related to construction expenses, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
Utilize accounting software such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks to maintain precise financial records and facilitate reporting.
Collaborate with project managers and teams to provide financial insights that support project planning and execution.
Oversee compliance with financial policies and procedures specific to the construction industry.
Mentor junior team members and support their development in financial management practices.

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft is essential.
Strong understanding of financial management within the construction or related industries.
Experience with financial accounting principles, reporting standards, and project cost control.
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and vendor management in a construction setting.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
Effective communication skills for mentoring team members and collaborating across departments.
Familiarity with financial services tools and systems used in managing large-scale projects.
