An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Trainee Fencer to join our Nicholsons Forestry team. This is a fantastic chance for someone eager to begin their journey in the Forestry industry. You’ll be working hands‑on in beautiful outdoor environments, learning practical skills from an experienced team and building a strong foundation for a long‑term career. If you’re motivated, enthusiastic and ready to start your path in the industry, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will:

Support our busy and friendly forestry department in all aspects of commercial fencing and forest management.
Develop new skills and learn what it takes to keep our forests productive and healthy through the implementation of fencing.
Work in wide ranging woodlands, commercial forest stands, large country estates, farmland and occasional domestic settings.
Engage in active, hands-on work.

Key responsibilities:

To learn and develop your skills, knowledge and understanding from more experienced members of the team.
Undertake fencing operations safely and efficiently.

Successful candidates will:

Have a desire to learn about fencing and forestry operations.
Have an ability to work in a team effectively.
Have a willingness to work outdoors in all weathers.
Be flexible and adaptable.
Be health & safety aware and ensure that all standards are upheld.

Desirable:

Experience and/or interest in a relevant industry.
Experience using power tools.

A full, clean UK driving licence will be required due to the remote nature of the role.
