Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant/Barista to join our team during school hours. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organised environment. The position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about coffee, enjoy working in a new coffee shop, and are committed to food safety standards. The role offers an opportunity to develop barista skills while working flexible hours that fit around school commitments.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages in accordance with company standards.
Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions, and provide friendly service.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas throughout shifts.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
Follow food preparation guidelines to ensure quality and consistency.
Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods.
Starting wage £12.80 per hour then a wage review at 3 month and 6 months.

Experience

Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food safety procedures is desirable.
Experience in serving customers in a hospitality environment is advantageous.
Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing payments confidently.
Good time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
A friendly attitude with excellent communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
