Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Security Dog Handler (K9) to join our security team. This role involves working closely with trained canine units to ensure the safety and security of designated premises. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and a passion for working with specialised security animals.
Requirements:
- Valid SIA Licence
- Own vehicle (car/van with Self contained dog unit) and valid driving licence
- Previous experience in static site security preferred
- Excellent communication and incident-reporting skills
- Flexible and punctual
Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned static security sites
- Monitor access points and deter unauthorised entry
- Complete reports via our QR-Patrol system
- Respond to incidents promptly and professionally
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained on site
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises using both visual inspection and canine assistance to deter unauthorised access or suspicious activity
- Monitor CCTV systems and conduct surveillance to identify potential security breaches or threats
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or unauthorised activities and responding appropriately
- Respond swiftly to alarms or incidents, employing canine units as necessary for apprehension or deterrence
- Support emergency procedures by providing first aid when required, ensuring safety of personnel and visitors
- Maintain detailed records of patrols, incidents, and canine training activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in security operations, preferably with a focus on canine handling or related fields
- Knowledge of surveillance techniques, CCTV operation, and loss prevention strategies
- First aid certification is highly desirable
- Strong observational skills with the ability to recognise potential threats or hazards quickly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure situations
- Valid security licence or certification relevant to the jurisdiction is preferred.

Pay: £13.50-£15.50 per hour
