We are looking to recruit a permanent Procurement Services Assistant in to a busy team who will provide support to the procurement service.
Based in the Procurement Service within Finance and reporting to a Team Manager you will be required to provide support to the Resources, Education and Social Care team including low value/low risk procurement activities.
You will provide procurement advice to suppliers, client departments, colleagues and external stakeholders, delivering a customer focused and professional service.

Please Note:

Delivering an efficient service safeguarding taxpayer assets and supporting services to effectively manage their resources.
As a member of the Procurement Team, contribute to the delivery of the team’s agreed objectives, plans and targets.
Assist the Team Manager and support colleagues to deliver work across organisational boundaries and to contribute to the overall delivery of the Council’s corporate plans, priorities and objectives.
Promote continuous improvement by applying lean thinking and any other appropriate methods to change working methods in collaboration with all relevant colleagues and record the changes in the relevant Statement of Current Working Method.
Undertake a range of procurement processes or tasks in accordance with predetermined procedures or instructions, which contribute to an effective strategic procurement service provision.
Support the implementation of Procurement Procedures through Training, Education and Knowledge Transfer with Customers and Stakeholders.

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to ‘Higher’ level, NC or SVQ2 or equivalent and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience.
Level 1 Disclosure Clearance
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance to allow access to the Public Sector Network. ELC will submit a Police Act Disclosure application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
