Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will support the development and well-being of children in a nurturing environment, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and engaging space for young learners. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare, management, and leadership within a vibrant nursery setting. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a genuine interest in working with children to foster their growth and development.

Responsibilities

Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills.
Assist with the supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety at all times.
Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating nursery environment.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
Support behavioural management strategies to encourage good conduct among children.
Assist in organising daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and play sessions.
Contribute to the assessment of children's progress and share observations with senior staff.
Support management in implementing policies related to health, safety, and child protection standards.
Occasionally assist with administrative tasks related to nursery operations.
Drive company vehicles when required for nursery-related activities or outings.

Experience

Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable, but training is available.
Demonstrated leadership skills within childcare environments are advantageous.
Knowledge of childcare practices, child development stages, and early childhood education principles.
Strong communication skills in Welsh both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
Experience working with diverse groups of children and understanding their individual needs.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
