Accounts Clerk
salary £35,000 - £45,000 (dependent on experience)
JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to undertake payment of suppliers efficiently and accurately, collect payments and chase outstanding debtors.
KEY FUNCTIONS / CORE DUTIES
a) Receive invoices and travel / petty cash expenses
b) Ensure invoices are correctly lodged within accounting procedure
c) Post supplier invoices and travel expenses onto Sage
d) Input payments onto online payment system for authorisation
e) File invoices and expenses
Priorities are set and overseen by your line manager.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly trial balances.
- Produce, review, and interpret complete balance sheets and P&L statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- General Accounting:
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
- Work with external auditors and tax advisors when needed.
Requirements
- Strong technical accounting skills, including deep proficiency in trial balances and balance sheet management.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks) and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Advantages :
- Proven experience as an Accounts Manager or Senior Accountant within the travel industry.
- Hands-on experience with ATOL and ABTA reporting requirements.
Completes tasks with interpersonal skills
Numeracy and literacy skills with an ability to exchange basic information verbally and in writing
