Full job description

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those in need, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals requiring specialised care such as dementia or hospice support.

Duties

Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring
Support individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's through behaviour management and specialised care techniques
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
Manage medical needs with adherence to care plans and protocols
Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary
Support families by providing updates on client condition and care routines

Requirements

Prior experience in care giving in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care best practices
Certification or training in first aid and medication administration preferred
Ability to to use equipments when necessary for mobility assistance or transfers
Valid driving licence for transportation duties
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in care delivery
Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in caregiving roles
Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
