Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Packing Assistant to join our production team. This role involves supporting the efficient packaging of bakery products while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Assist in packing baked goods accurately and efficiently according to specified standards
- Ensure all products are correctly labelled and meet quality control requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the packing area in compliance with hygiene regulations
- Operate basic mechanical equipment used in packaging processes
- Follow HACCP and food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Record production data accurately using basic maths skills for inventory and quality tracking
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
- Support the team in maintaining a smooth workflow during production shifts.
- Assisting the bakers with bakery shutdown and cleaning jobs.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production or bakery environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with basic maths for counting, measuring, and recording data accurately
- Ability to work efficiently within a team and follow strict health and safety guidelines
This role is suitable for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills within the food manufacturing sector while contributing to a high-quality bakery operation.
This is a full time position but we would also consider applicants who are available part-time for either packing or cleaning.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
