Self motivated, experienced individual required to run manual machining centre making steel bodies for diamond tooling.
Products include tools for oil & gas, aerospace and automotive industries.
Skills and responsibilities to include:-
· Setting and operating manual centre lathe, milling machine, cylindrical and internal grinder
· Use of inspection resources – internal/external micrometer, digital vernier, plug gauges, shadowgraph etc.
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
· Ordering and maintaining stocks of raw materials and tooling.
· Maintaining and updating production records.
· Assist with apprenticeship training.
The successful candidate will be able to bring each workpiece to the desired shape and dimensions in accordance with the specifications outlined in technical drawings and meeting the relevant tolerance specifications.
You will be able to set up and chucks and tool bits, rough out the workpiece adjusting the rotation speed as required and selecting the appropriate cutting tools. Perform finishing operations and quality control checks using both manual and digital measuring equipment.
The successful candidate must have previous experience, be able to work without supervision and the ability to organise work schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
This is a permanent full-time position within a long established company with a broad range of both UK and international client base looking for bespoke tooling for their precision engineering projects.
Remuneration will be between £15 - £18 per hour dependant upon skills and experience. there is a company pension scheme and generous holiday allowance.
