We are seeking a dedicated, organised and proactive Health & Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our team within a busy manufacturing and operational environment. This role is key to supporting the smooth running of health, safety and compliance processes across the business, ensuring standards are maintained and continuously improved.
The role will involve a mixture of office-based administration, factory operations and outdoor yard activity, with practical involvement where required to support implementation of systems and procedures.
This position would suit someone with strong organisation and administration skills who enjoys practical operational involvement and is looking to develop further within Health & Safety and Compliance. We welcome applications from experienced coordinators, manufacturing professionals, IOSH/NEBOSH learners, or semi-retired candidates with relevant experience.
The role reports directly to the Operations Manager (Stuart).
Key Responsibilities
- Creating, reviewing and updating Health & Safety documentation
- Maintaining staff training records and compliance logs
- Supporting risk assessments and RAMS documentation
- Managing accident, incident and near-miss reporting logs
- Supporting toolbox talks and safety briefings
- PPE checks, monitoring and stock tracking
- Conducting site inspections and maintaining photographic records
- Supporting audit preparation and organising compliance documentation
- Managing contractor paperwork and compliance checks
- Filing, document control and compliance tracking
- SOP and process creation
- Supporting implementation of systems and operational procedures
- Supporting wider quality control and compliance activities where required
- Assisting with yard safety and occasional banksman duties where necessary
Responsibilities
- Develop, review and update health and safety policies in line with current legislation and best practice
- Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance standards are maintained
- Support investigations into incidents and near misses, including root cause analysis
- Prepare reports relating to safety performance, incidents and compliance activities
- Coordinate and support delivery of safety training across the business
- Maintain accurate audit, training and compliance records
- Support external inspections and audits
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organisation
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure practical implementation of procedures and improvements
Essential Requirements
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Strong organisation and administration abilities
- Experience managing paperwork and document control
- Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with staff at all levels
- Comfortable working within a manufacturing, factory and yard environment
- Practical and common-sense approach to problem solving
- Good attention to detail
- Able to follow actions through to completion
- Positive and approachable attitude
Desirable Requirements
- IOSH qualification
- NEBOSH qualification or currently studying towards
- Manufacturing or operational environment experience
- Auditing or compliance experience
- FLT or banksman awareness
- First aid knowledge/certification
- ISO/compliance systems exposure
- Full UK driving licence

We are looking for someone who is proactive, practical, approachable and willing to get involved in day-to-day operations to support a safe and compliant working environment.
Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour
