Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail focused Despatch/Logistics Coordinator to support efficient order fulfilment operations. This role is responsible for ensuring orders are accurately picked, packed, documented, and despatched in line with customer requirements, quality standards, and delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect products and documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance prior to despatch.
- Pick and pack orders securely using appropriate materials to prevent transit damage.
- Ensure packages are correctly labelled, including compliance with lithium‑ion battery transport regulations where applicable.
- Verify orders against internal documentation and customer requirements; report discrepancies or quality issues.
- Prepare and review shipping and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, commodity codes, and dangerous goods paperwork as required.
- Book domestic and international shipments using courier portals and coordinate with third‑party or customer‑appointed logistics providers.
- Monitor shipments and proactively manage delays, exceptions, or customs queries.
- Support customs clearance activities and respond to enquiries.
- Process inbound customer repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe packing and storage environment.
- Follow company procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Skills and Attributes
- Previous experience in a despatch or logistics role.
- Familiarity with international couriers (e.g. DHL, FedEx, UPS) and online booking systems.
- Understanding of export procedures, customs documentation, and Incoterms.
- Working knowledge of (or willingness to train in) lithium battery shipping regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise workload effectively.
- Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
Experience & Education
- GCSE Maths and English.
- 2-3 years' experience in similar roles is preferable
- PC literate & familiar with MS office applications
Work Schedule
- 38 hours per week between 0700-1800 Monday-Friday with negotiable start & finish time and the option of working a 9-day fortnight.
