Role Overview

Prolynk Limited is seeking a Business Research Executive specialising in retail technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and SaaS market intelligence. The role will support the growth of Prolynk’s Retail SaaS platform in the UK market by conducting structured business research, analysing retail sector trends, identifying customer needs, and producing actionable commercial insights.

The successful candidate will combine market research expertise, analytical capability, and knowledge of digital transformation trends to help shape Prolynk’s UK market strategy and support data-driven decision-making.

This is a research and insights-focused role involving analysis of retail markets, competitor intelligence, customer behaviour, technology adoption trends, and commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Business and Market Research

⁠ ⁠Conduct detailed research into UK retail markets, customer segments, and technology adoption trends.
⁠ ⁠Analyse retail industry developments, AI adoption, automation trends, and SaaS opportunities.
⁠ ⁠Gather and evaluate market intelligence from industry reports, public sources, customer feedback, and competitor activity.
⁠ ⁠Identify emerging opportunities and challenges affecting retailers adopting AI-driven solutions.

Commercial Intelligence and Analysis

⁠ ⁠Develop research reports, market assessments, and insight presentations for senior management.
⁠ ⁠Analyse customer requirements and business challenges to support product positioning and market strategy.
⁠ ⁠Produce competitor benchmarking reports covering pricing, product capabilities, market positioning, and customer value propositions.
⁠ ⁠Translate research findings into recommendations supporting business growth decisions.

Retail SaaS Product Insights

⁠ ⁠Research how retailers can apply AI-powered solutions to improve customer engagement, operations, and decision-making.
⁠ ⁠Support product development teams by providing insights into customer expectations and market requirements.
⁠ ⁠Assist in defining target customer profiles and market entry strategies for the UK retail sector.

Stakeholder Engagement

⁠ ⁠Work with internal teams including product, technology, marketing, and commercial functions.
⁠ ⁠Engage with prospective customers and industry stakeholders to collect business insights.
⁠ ⁠Prepare research-based materials to support strategic discussions and commercial opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience

⁠ ⁠Experience in business research, market intelligence, commercial analysis, or related analytical roles.
⁠ ⁠Strong understanding of research methodologies and data interpretation.
⁠ ⁠Ability to analyse complex market information and present clear recommendations.
⁠ ⁠Experience researching technology markets, SaaS products, AI solutions, or digital transformation is desirable.
⁠ ⁠Strong written and verbal communication skills.
⁠ ⁠Ability to prepare professional reports, presentations, and business cases.

Qualifications

⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business, economics, marketing, technology, research, analytics, or a related discipline.

⁠ ⁠Experience with market research tools, analytical platforms, and business intelligence techniques is desirable.
