Full job description

SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant who can help nurture and guide a small group of young learners to develop both educational and life skills.

This is a vibrant SEMH school in Halifax supporting students with Trauma informed SEMH needs from ages 7 to 16. The school is currently expanding and increasing the number of students on roll.

Key Responsibilities:

Building strong relationships with the students
Being a positive role model at all times
Empowering the students to develop social skills
Raising aspirations for the learners

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and resilience
Worked in education , social services , care or counselling previously
A clear enhanced DBS on the Update service ( or willingness to apply for one)
