Multi-Skilled CNC Operator – Press Brake, Turret Punch & CNC Wire
Full-time | 4-day week | Based in Elland, West Yorkshire
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and capable Multi-Skilled CNC Operator to join our busy production team.
This is a skilled role suited to someone who can confidently program, set, and operate CNC machinery independently. Press Brake experience is important, but we are particularly interested in candidates who can work across multiple machines, including CNC Press Brake, CNC Turret Punch, and CNC Wire Bending machinery.
We operate a 4-day working week:
Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 5:15pm, with overtime frequently available on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC Press Brake machinery from technical drawings and works orders.
- Set and operate CNC Turret Punch machinery, including tooling setup and basic programme adjustments.
- Program, set, and operate CNC Wire Bending machinery, producing formed wire components accurately and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, bend allowances, tolerances, and production information.
- Work with a range of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and steel wire.
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy and finished quality.
- Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programmes where required to achieve the correct result.
- Work safely and efficiently to support daily production schedules.
- Collaborate with colleagues across production, engineering, and quality.
- Carry out basic maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of machinery and tooling.
- Contribute to improvements in setup times, tooling methods, process flow, and manufacturing efficiency.
Experience & Skills Required
- Proven experience operating and setting CNC machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong Press Brake experience, ideally including programming and setting.
- Experience with CNC Turret Punch machinery would be highly desirable.
- Experience with CNC Wire Bending machinery would be especially valuable.
- Confident reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of forming, tooling, material behaviour, and dimensional accuracy.
- Able to work independently, take ownership of jobs, and maintain high quality standards.
- Flexible and willing to move between machines and production priorities as required.
- Practical, reliable, and proactive, with good communication and teamwork skills.
