SMALL WORKS PROJECT LEAD
BELFOR provides a comprehensive service for a variety of insurance companies by restoring & reinstating their customers’ homes after flood or fire damage. The Project Lead is responsible for the successful on-site delivery of reinstatement and restoration jobs, ensuring that all works meet required quality, safety and time. Acting as the primary on-site representative for BELFOR, the Project Lead oversees operational delivery, communication to achieve high customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
ROLE PURPOSE
To ensure the successful delivery of projects by proactively planning and coordinating resources, enabling timely completion, and high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations and compliance standards.
KEY OUTCOMES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successful Delivery of Projects
Lead and coordinate onsite teams to deliver reinstatement works within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of resources to achieve targets. Oversee and monitor multiple sites as required, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations.
- Strong Stakeholder Communication & Customer Experience
Build confidence in BELFOR services by demonstrating professionalism, technical knowledge and value. Maintain clear communication with Admin, Field Staff and Managers regarding progress, risks and required actions as well as external stakeholders such as Loss Adjusters, Insurers and Customers.
- Operational Compliance & Site Safety
Ensure full adherence to all Quality, Management and Health & Safety procedures. Maintain safe, well‑organised work sites with proper signage, PPE usage and hazard control. Ensure all breaches of company rules are escalated immediately and support any required investigations.
- Accurate Documentation & System Use
Complete and synchronise all required on‑site documentation, including Handyman entries, materials usage. Ensure accurate, timely upload of all data before leaving site.
- Leadership, Mentoring & Best Practice
Provide guidance and mentoring to trades staff, supporting the delivery of high‑quality work. Suggest improvements to working practices, materials and processes to enhance efficiency. Stay updated on best building practices and regulatory changes.
- Asset Care & Professional Standards
Maintain a clean, serviceable company vehicle and ensure team vehicles meet the same standard. Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained, serviced and PAT tested as required. Ensure Trades and Techs have the correct tools and equipment to carry out their duties. Present a smart, clean uniform and professional behaviour at all times.
- Operational Support & Flexibility
Assist Operations Managers with job scheduling and progress updates.
Work flexibly across any UK site and across both commercial and residential projects. Perform additional duties as required to support business operations including during rapidly evolving events such as periods of surge.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Trade background with experience of direct work to customer
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering projects.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and build strong client relationships.
- Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and other relevant requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Construction, Building Services, Trade)
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate
- Full UK driving licence
