An exciting opportunity has arisen within our expanding modern Livestock enterprise for a Livestock Assistant to work with a herd of over 400 suckler cows and assist with the beef finishing of over 1,000 cattle.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To assist in the rearing of over 500 calves annually.
- To assist with general livestock husbandry for suckler herd, finishing cattle and dairy calves.
- You will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day farm, general livestock duties, feeding TMR, calving, fencing, stock handling and other associated duties.
- Daily maintenance of all livestock machinery.
- Carry out general farm work to include grassland and arable operations during harvest.
- Drive and operate modern farm machinery.
Requirements for role:
- Good tractor and telehandler skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and hard-working attitude is essential.
- To be someone with a proven track record, experience in livestock husbandry, who is well-organised and keen to take on responsibility.
- You must be self-motivated and able to work on your own as well as within a team.
- A full UK Driving Licence is required.
- PA sprayer and telehandler tickets desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
