About the role
To support the operational delivery of environmental sustainability across projects by applying developing knowledge and skills to real-world challenges.
This role contributes to compliance, data accuracy, and frontline engagement, helping embed the Building New Futures strategy into day-to-day site activities and team culture. It provides a foundation for growth through structured learning, collaboration, and hands-on involvement in sustainability initiatives.
What you'll be doing
Support the project / contract Environmental Sustainability Team and liaise with other group Sustainability teams to deliver best sustainability outcomes for the project / contract, including:
- Contribute to development and maintenance of environmental risk assessments and sustainability plans that reflect Building New Futures commitments and Bridging the Gap actions.
- Assist with applications for consents, licences, and permits, ensuring legal compliance.
- Submit and validate environmental data in the Sustainability Portal and company or client systems, enabling accurate reporting against Building New Futures KPIs.
- Conduct planned & unplanned inspections to assess compliance with the BMS and client requirements and support audits, including those by certification bodies and clients.
- Produce formal reports on findings and communicate these to the project team.
- Provide support and advice on environmental management, compliance and project specific mitigation measures including pollution control and ecology protection.
- Monitor and investigate environmental incidents, observations and complaints, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Report good practice and near misses, using the Observation App or by reporting to project / team.
- Collaborate with the wider sustainability function to promote a #OneTeam culture.

- Awareness of environmental regulators, ISO 14001, and data reporting systems
- Supporting risk assessments and sustainability plans.
- Capturing and validating environmental sustainability data.
- Participating in inspections and audits.
- Working towards relevant professional membership e.g. Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) if relevant
