Traffic Management Planner (Events)
Location: Office based, Coventry
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, predominately Monday to Friday
Salary: £40,000 – £75,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Join Event Support Team — Help Shape How the UK's Biggest Events Move Safely!
We're looking for an experienced Traffic Management Planner to join our office-based team in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled traffic management professional who wants to move away from the field and take ownership of the planning and design behind the events we support — from major festivals to large-scale sporting events.
You'll be at the heart of our operation — using your expertise to design safe, effective Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for events across the UK, working closely with our operational teams on the ground to make sure every event runs smoothly from setup to breakdown.
Your Role
As our Traffic Management Planner, you will be responsible for:
- Producing CAD drawings and Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for event sites nationwide
- Designing site access, car parking layouts, road closures, and pedestrian/vehicle routing for events
- Conducting site visits ahead of events to assess the venue and inform accurate, practical planning
- Working closely with event organisers, venues, and our operations team to ensure plans work in the real world
- Adapting plans for different site types — from rural festival fields to city-centre events
- Reviewing and refining plans based on event-day feedback to continuously improve our approach
- Providing expert guidance and technical support to marshals and TM operatives from the office
This is a planning and design-focused role — you'll be based in the office full-time, with occasional site visits to support your work, rather than working event days on-site.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in traffic management planning for events, festivals, or similar large-scale sites
- Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD or similar)
- A solid understanding of event site logistics — vehicle flow, car parking, pedestrian safety, and emergency access
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple event plans at once
- Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with event organisers, venues, and internal teams
- A full UK driving licence for site visits
- Traffic management qualifications (e.g. TTMBC, Chapter 8 knowledge) are a bonus but not essential
Why Join Us?
- Stable, office-based role — predominately Monday to Friday, with occasional event weekend cover as required
- Play a key role in delivering some of the UK's biggest festivals, concerts, and sporting events
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Be part of a growing, supportive, and professional team
- Genuine opportunity to shape and improve how we plan and deliver events nationwide
