We proudly serve a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in both North and South Lanarkshire. NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Salus Return to work Services to recruit Working Well Practitioners to deliver a new and innovative workforce support service (Working Well) across NHS Lanarkshire Acute sites.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of a service aimed at improving staff health and wellbeing, with a strong focus on early intervention, preventing sickness absence and supporting timely and sustainable return to work. The service aims to engage employees at the earliest stage where health-related challenges are affecting their ability to remain at or return to work.

You will provide structured, person-centred support through comprehensive assessment, tailored planning and coordination of support and interventions to improve health, wellbeing and work outcomes.

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Fiday between 08:00 - 20:00

Please note this is a fixed term post for 18 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

In this key role, you will:

Conduct structured biopsychosocial assessments to identify barriers to work
Develop and implement personalised support plans
Provide ongoing Case Management, including regular progress reviews
Promote early intervention strategies to prevent sickness absence
Support employees to achieve a timely and sustained return to work
Coordinate access to appropriate services such as Occupational Health, physiotherapy, and counselling
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, liaising with managers, HR, Occupational Health, and Trade Union representatives
Assist with the implementation of workplace adjustments
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service monitoring and evaluation
Promote the service across acute sites to encourage awareness and early referral

What You'll Bring:

Educated to degree level or equivalent within a relevant health, psychology, or vocational discipline
Membership of a relevant professional body
Experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or musculoskeletal conditions
Ability to analyse and interpret complex information to inform decision-making
Experience assisting individuals facing health-related barriers to employment
Proven experience in case management or a similar role
Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Full, valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable

Knowledge of NHS Scotland attendance management processes
Membership of relevant specialist interest groups
Experience in clinical audit and service development
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Disability Discrimination Act, Health & Safety)
Understanding of research methods and application
