Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using TIG welding techniques, to produce high-quality products in accordance with technical specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in sheet metal fabrication. Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards
- Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide fabrication processes
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with equipment or components during production
- Conduct quality checks on welded and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with standards
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or subassemblies as required
Experience
- Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly <LOCATION> welding techniques
- Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of sheet metal work and basic assembly processes
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of technical drawings and basic maths for measurements and calculations
- Familiarity with the use of welding safety procedures and protective gear
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or workshop environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
