Role Summary:
The role will require you to provide occupational health services on a home-based basis, with travel to support our clients where the need arises. All travel will be within the Glasgow area and up to 2 hours' drive depending on service requirements. Travel will take place within working hours.
There is a requirement to cover an e-commerce shift once per week, working 1pm–9pm, at our Glasgow-based e-commerce client site in G69. All other working days will be typical office hours of 08:30–16:30, with a mixture of home working and travelling during working hours to complete face-to-face assessments. Mileage is paid at £0.45 per mile.
Due to this being floating cover for when the need arises, we cannot specify how many times per week you will be required to travel onsite. Due to the site locations, the post holder must hold a driver's license and have access to a vehicle.

Occupational Health Physiotherapy focuses on the relationship between health and work, with the aim of identifying and addressing barriers that may impact an individual's ability to remain in or return to work.
In this role, you will use your core clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patients in line with NICE guidelines, HCPC standards, and CSP best practice. A biopsychosocial approach underpins all assessments, supported by strong clinical reasoning, use of flag systems and validated outcome measures to guide diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning.
You will carry out initial assessments (remote and face-to-face), deliver evidence-based interventions, and support individuals through self-management and exercise-based rehabilitation. Hands-on treatment is not always required, with a greater focus on education, movement, and practical strategies to support long-term recovery.
The role also involves producing clear reports for employers, providing advice on functional capacity and workplace adjustments, while ensuring transparency as employees have access to this information. Where treatment is needed, it is typically short-term, with regular reviews to monitor progress and outcomes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, detailed, and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to employees on a remote or face-to-face basis.
- Identify, assess, and advise on any workplace hazards or contributing factors to Musculoskeletal disorders.
- Conduct workplace assessments such as DSE or work-based tasks as and when required and provide advice and recommendations as appropriate.
- Always maintain clinical objectivity and impartiality in line with occupational health guidance.
- Deliver effective evidence-based rehabilitation that adheres to national clinical standards.
- Utilise a bio-psychosocial approach combined with functional assessment to address barriers to work and inform robust work recommendations.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required for the Role:
- Clinical Physiotherapy Qualification.
- Full Member of the CSP & Registered member of HCPC is essential.
- Minimum of 18 months experience post registration
- Previous experience or an interest in Occupational Health Physiotherapy.
- Driver license & access to a vehicle.
