Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Demolition Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient demolition of structures, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within the construction industry, working on diverse projects that require physical labour and technical knowledge. All positions are paid, including internships, and prior experience in construction or demolition is advantageous but not essential.
Duties
- Assist with the demolition of buildings and structures using hand tools and power tools
- Safely dismantle fixtures, fittings, and structural elements in accordance with project specifications
- Remove debris and waste materials from site, ensuring a clean and hazard-free environment
- Support skilled trades such as carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, and fabrication as needed
- Operate equipment such as drills, saws, hammers, and other hand tools efficiently and safely
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
- Assist in setting up site safety barriers and signage to protect workers and the public
- Carry out general labouring tasks including lifting, carrying, and moving materials around site
Experience
- Previous experience in construction or demolition work is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of basic construction skills such as carpentry, roofing, painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in demolition activities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake additional training as required
