Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic QTS GCSE English Tutor to inspire learners of all ages to develop their language skills and achieve their communication goals for 1-to-1 sessions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering engaging, personalised lessons that foster confidence and fluency in English. As an English Tutor, you will create a supportive learning environment, tailor instruction to individual needs, and motivate students to reach their full potential.

Duties

Design and deliver dynamic, interactive English lessons tailored to each student’s skill level and learning objectives
Assess students’ progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that motivates learners to participate actively
Utilise various teaching tools and resources, including multimedia and digital platforms, to enhance engagement
Provide constructive feedback to help students improve in preparation for GCSE examinations
Support students with special education needs by adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles
Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, attendance, and student progress

Requirements

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching English, preferably with children or young learners
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
Experience working with children or in special education environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and curriculum development for language learners
Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs
Enthusiasm for helping students succeed and a proactive approach to instruction
Flexibility to adapt lessons based on individual student requirements and feedback

Pay: £35.00 per hour
