We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wealstun, a category C Prison located near Wetherby, Yorkshire. HMP Wealstun is a male prison that focuses on training and education that houses around 800 patients ages 21+. Within this role you will be working closely with our multidisciplinary to deliver high quality healthcare and prescribing services. Within this role you will work with patients who have a range of needs including long term condition, substance misuse and acute physical and mental health.

Hours

x2 sessions on a Wed AM & PM.

This position is part time working 8 hours per week.

Salary

you’ll receive an annual salary up to £129,500 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active
involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required

MBChB or MBBS
Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
Evidence of continuing professional development
Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
