Full job description

Maintenance Assistant – 46 Bedroom Hotel

To support the day-to-day maintenance of the hotel, ensuring bedrooms, bathrooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-presented.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the hotel.
Respond to maintenance issues reported by guests, housekeeping, reception, and management.
Complete basic plumbing, decorating, joinery, furniture repairs, and general handyman tasks.
Check bedrooms and bathrooms regularly to ensure they are guest-ready.
Repair or report issues with lighting, heating, showers, toilets, doors, locks, windows, furniture, extractor fans, and fixtures.
Assist with room refurbishments, moving furniture, deliveries, and setting up equipment when required.
Support routine health and safety checks, including fire doors, emergency lighting, water checks, and general safety inspections.
Keep maintenance areas, tools, plant rooms, and storage spaces clean, organised, and safe.
Help maintain external areas, including entrances, car parks, pathways, bins, signage, and grounds.
Assist contractors on site and ensure work areas are left tidy and safe.
Communicate clearly with the Maintenance Manager, General Manager, reception, and housekeeping.
Prioritise urgent guest-facing issues and work professionally around guests.

Skills & Experience

Previous maintenance, handyman, facilities, building, or trade experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, decorating, joinery, and general repairs.
Ability to work independently and use initiative.
Good communication and organisation skills.
Reliable, practical, and hands-on.
Previous maintenance experience is desirable.

Flexible and willing to help where needed.

Pay: £26,500.00-£27,500.00 per year
