We are looking for an organised and proactive Buying Assistant to support our Purchasing Manager across purchasing, imports, and supply chain operations.
This is a varied and hands-on role offering exposure to the full supply chain lifecycle. From raising purchase orders and coordinating international shipments, through to warehouse delivery, supplier communication, and post-shipment financial administration.
You will work closely with our suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouses, finance, and operations teams, playing an important role in ensuring stock moves efficiently from supplier to final receipt.

What you'll be doing:
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with raising and processing purchase orders.
- Support negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
- Coordinate international shipments with suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping companies.
- Track shipments and proactively manage delivery schedules and delays.
- Prepare and check shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs paperwork.
- Update internal systems with PO information, shipment updates, costs, and delivery status.
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth receipt of stock.
- Support supplier communication and general purchasing administration.
- Organise and provide shipping and financial documentation to the accounts department.
- Work collaboratively across departments to support operational efficiency and stock availability.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communication skills with both internal & external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (V-Lookups & Pivot Tables)
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, or Oracle EBS to process purchase orders and track procurement activities.
- Previous experience in purchasing, imports, logistics, or supply chain administration is advantageous but not essential.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and take ownership.

Pay: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
