Full job description

We are looking for a Fertility Nurse to join our dedicated team of nurses and midwives. As a Specialist Nurse you will work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team to develop the service in order to meet the needs of patients and their families.

You will need to demonstrate clinical judgement and critical decision-making skills based upon evidence-based practice. You will have a current registration with the NMC and are expected to practice within the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) regulations

Key responsibilities:

Working with team to ensure exceptional patient care.
Supporting patients through the treatment cycle and pregnancy test result
Preparing and scheduling of patient treatment cycles requiring good communication and counselling skills.
Liaising with consultants to prepare treatment protocols.
Performing pre-op assessments for patients undergoing egg collections
Phlebotomy and administration of injections
Carrying out basic physiological observations
IT literate with excellent telephone and communication skills
Comply with all company protocols regarding documentation and confidentiality.
Providing patient care for couples undergoing treatment with donor gametes as well as individual treatment
Provide specialist support for the complex needs of different client groups.
Assist in minor procedure suite if required.
A familiarity with HFEA code of practice

Hours: full time available at 37.5 hours per week in a shift pattern with some weekend cover required

Salary: negotiable depending on experience
