The opportunity

Within our Envision 90TEN team (part of Envision Medical Communications), this role oversees a diverse portfolio of global client accounts, delivering strategic programmes across medical affairs, publications, launch activities, and broader scientific communications. You'll provide senior client oversight, drive portfolio growth, and work closely with scientific and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

As an Associate Director, Client Engagement, you'll shape long-term client strategy, oversee programme delivery, support new business opportunities, interact daily with agency leadership, and mentor a high-performing team. You'll play a key role in ensuring seamless execution across a varied portfolio while fostering strong, trusted client relationships.

Role responsibilities

Lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of global medical communications accounts, ensuring the successful delivery of strategic programmes across medical affairs, publications, congress activities, and launch initiatives.
Act as a trusted strategic partner to clients, providing guidance and recommendations that align scientific communications with business objectives.
Drive portfolio growth by building long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand partnerships, and supporting new business development.
Partner cross-functionally with scientific, operational, and finance teams to oversee resource planning, financial performance, and successful programme delivery.
Lead, mentor, and develop account management and programme support team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Contribute to agency strategy, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to support the ongoing success of the business.

Do you have what we are looking for?

Skills & expertise

Significant experience within a medical communications agency is essential, with a strong background in medical affairs and scientific communications.
Proven experience leading a portfolio of global client accounts, with responsibility for strategic planning, programme delivery, and account growth.
Demonstrated success building trusted client relationships and acting as a strategic advisor to clients.
Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams, with a collaborative, hands-on leadership style.
Strong commercial acumen, including financial management, forecasting, resource planning, and portfolio profitability.
Experience contributing to proposals, pitches, and new business development, with the ability to identify opportunities for account growth.
Confidence partnering with scientific leadership and collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary, global teams.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of client service and operational excellence.
