Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our café runs smoothly and efficiently, providing excellent service to our customers while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items in accordance with café standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including dining spaces and kitchen facilities.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times.
Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, taking orders and answering queries regarding menu items.
Manage time effectively to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages during peak hours.
Handle cash transactions accurately, applying basic maths skills for payments and change.
Support team members in various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations throughout the café.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred but not essential.
Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
A passion for food preparation and customer service is highly desirable.
