Junior Land Surveyor
We are looking for a Junior Land Surveyor to join our Surveying Team and work on real projects that help shape developments, infrastructure, and the built environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some industry experience who is looking to further develop their surveying career within a supportive and professional working environment.
The role will involve a mixture of office-based and site-based work, helping to gather accurate land and site information, prepare survey drawings, and support the delivery of a range of projects. You will work closely with our experienced surveying and engineering team on projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.
You will assist with carrying out topographical surveys, measuring land features, setting out, collecting site data using modern surveying equipment, and preparing plans and drawings used in the design and planning process. This information is essential in helping engineers and developers understand sites and design projects safely and effectively.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience who is looking to build their technical knowledge, gain exposure to a variety of projects, and progress their career within a growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with topographical and measured building surveys on site.
- Gather accurate land and site data using surveying equipment and GPS technology.
- Prepare survey drawings and plans using AutoCAD and other software.
- Process survey information and maintain accurate records.
- Support the surveying and engineering team with project delivery.
- Interpret drawings, maps, and technical information.
- Assist with setting out and site measurements where required.
- Liaise with team members, clients, and contractors as required.
- Develop project management skills to support project delivery and deadlines.
- Follow company quality procedures and health & safety standards.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing.
- Previous experience within a surveying or engineering environment.
- Good computer skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines.
- Ability to think logically and mathematically.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Organised, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
Desirable
- 2+ years’ experience in land surveying or a similar role.
- Experience using Trimble surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, or laser scanners.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Trimble Business Centre or similar software.
- Qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related subject.
- Awareness of construction, infrastructure, or development projects.
